We often travel to Portland, Oregon for weekends and as we follow a plant-based diet having places to go that are vegan-friendly is very important to us. Luckily, there are plenty of great places to try out as vegans. Here are 6 places we have found on our trips to Portland.
USA: Oregon, Bend – A Broken Angel, Vegan Food Cart
A Broken Angel is a wonderful vegan food cart located in Bend, Oregon, close to the old Box Factory stores – between downtown Bend and the Old Mill District. It is quite simply our favourite food in the whole of Bend!Â
The space is shared with several other food carts the cater for all tastes and there is a large open, outdoor seating area, which is dog friendly.
Besides the food carts there is a great coffee shop, Spoken Moto, right next door, which is a great place to takes shelter in on colder and wetter days. As the name suggests Spoken Moto is a motorcycled themed coffee shop and is light and airy with plenty of seating ,,, but it does get busy!
A Broken Angel specialises in Southern and Mexican style food. My particular favourite is the Mount Bachelor hash, named after the local ski resort mountain. But everything they do is great and even if you are not a vegan this food cart is worth checking out.
