Maharashtra is a state located in the western part of India, bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west and neighboring states such as Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, and Goa. It is the second most populous state in India and the third largest by area. The state’s capital is Mumbai, which is also the financial capital of India and home to the Bollywood film industry. Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and Aurangabad are other major cities in Maharashtra known for their historical, economic, and cultural significance.
